|The Meaning of Being a Capuchin Missionary
|Missionary outreach is a central value and helps define what it means to be a
Capuchin. It is a mindset in which one is able to witness the gospel through being
present to the moment and by acts of love.
“When I was hungry, thirsty, homeless, sick, and in prison… I assure you, as often as
you did it for one of my least brothers or sisters, you did it for Me.”
For Capuchins, the success of missions is not measured by the number of Baptisms,
Weddings, or Conversions. It is measured through the transference of truth, beauty,
and goodness. Capuchins follow a life of prayer, both communal and private; a
life of brotherhood and reflection.
